Residential Treatment Center

Address:

Washington, UT, USA

Provider Highlights and Information

Population Served:

Sunrise students are between the ages of 13 and 17 who are struggling with

emotional, behavioral, or social challenges. These struggles have become so

severe that they are no longer able to function in their regular environment. Common

issues facing our students are depression, anxiety, borderline personality traits,

bipolar disorder, substance abuse, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and

learning differences

Therapeutic Modalities:

Our clinical philosophy is focused on the individual needs of families and students, and is rooted in family systems theory. The difficulties that families and students face are many, and can vary in presentation. Treatment is not one size fits all. Your family and team will create an individualized treatment plan focused on addressing the individual student and the needs of the family.

DBT provides a strong common language and is a research backed modality for treating adolescents and families with multiple problems and difficulties. DBT helps provide ongoing guidance and support while teaching ever important skills that each person within the family system can benefit from.

To meet individual needs we also employ several other therapeutic techniques and modalities aimed at improving the functioning, increase skills of members of the system and ultimately generalize skills into everyday life.

Academic Information:

Sunrise Residential Treatment Center is dual-licensed as a Residential Treatment Center and Therapeutic Boarding, which means we provide both clinical and academic rigor.

Our academic program is set up like a traditional school, with a dedicated school building and teacher-led classrooms. Our focus for all students is to prepare them for a seamless transition to the rigors and demands of college and real life. Our academic team is highly trained, and understands the clinical and academic challenges our students face.

Sunrise is accredited through Cognia and Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges as well as fully licensed by the Utah State Board of Education. Our Teachers meet the needs of girls of all learning abilities, from academic high achievers to students struggling with ADD, ADHD, NLD, low executive functioning skills, and other processing difficulties. Rather than focusing on labels, our expert teachers focus on the students as an intellectual and emotional whole.
